Two New Egyptian/Kemetic Candles

Just listed today! Two new scented soy candles inspired by Ancient Egypt and the Kemetic pantheon.

Ta-Mera (The Beautiful Land):

A blue candle scented with pure essential oils of neroli, Moroccan blue chamomile, thuja, sandalwood, and lavender spike—a sweet, fresh, slightly fruity scent. Ta-Mera, which translates as “the Beautiful Land,” was one of the names the Ancient Egyptians gave their homeland; this candle captures that loveliness and life-giving fertility of the Nile Valley. Dusted with blue, green, and gold glitters.

A sandy-colored candle scented with pure essential oils of neroli, frankincense, sandalwood, myrrh, and Moroccan blue chamomile—a complex, exotic scent. Inspired by the Egyptian/Kemetic pantheon of Gods. Dusted with blue, turquoise, red, and gold glitters.

Both candles come in sealable class jars and are available in my usual three sizes: 4 oz ($11), 7 oz ($14), and 11 oz ($17).

You can also check out my other candles here.

A Couple of New Candles!

It’s been kind of quiet around here the last couple of weeks since I’ve been researching and working on a lot of new products. They’ll be debuting over the next little while!

In the meantime, because I realized it’s been quite some time since I featured anything but jewelry here, I thought I’d show off some new candles! Just listed today, 5/9.

The Duat:

Scented with frankincense, sandalwood, Moroccan blue chamomile, vanilla, and myrrh–a spicy, exotic scent evocative of growth and rebirth. Available in 4 oz., 7 oz., and 11 oz. sizes. $11-17

Inspired by the Duat, the Ancient Egyptian/Kemetic Afterlife realm. After death, a person was escorted by the God Anubis to The Weighing of the Heart, where the deceased person’s heart was tested against the weight of a feather in judgment. Those who passed were escorted to Osiris, the God of the dead and of rebirth, and resided after alongside the deities and spirits in the Duat.

Scented with cedarwood, bergamot, helichrysum, vanilla, vetiver–a bright sweet and floral scent. Available in 4 oz., 7 oz., and 11 oz. sizes. $11-17

Inspired by Elfhame, the Otherworldly home of the elves in Welsh and Briton folklore. It is a mysterious land of spirits that wayward mortals could sometimes enter, though often only by mistake and not without risk.

And you can view all my candles (most of which haven’t been featured on this blog before) in my etsy shop here.

A Candle For Spring

I originally made this candle just for myself and my own personal welcoming of spring but I loved it so much I wanted to offer it in my shop. In many mythologies and particularly in the lore of old Europe from which I drew my inspiration, springtime is a special time of rejuvenation, rebirth, and the arrival of new hope.

Green Awakening Candle:

Vivid green soy wax with a 1/2 wooden wick. Scented with essential oils of rosemary, bergamot, lavender, rose, vetiver, and lime. Decorated with gold and green glitters. Like most of my other candles, this one is available in 4oz, 7oz, and 11oz sizes. $11-17

Happy springtime!

Ancient Egyptian-Inspired Candles

In addition to jewelry, I also design and make soy container candles. My candles are 100% soy wax, hand-dyed and scented with pure essential oils, in a sealable glass jar. I use wood wicks (which produce a campfire-like crackle) and decorate them with glitter that catches the light during burning. I currently have several candles inspired by ancient Egypt.

The Nile:

A tribute to the life-giving waters of the Nile River that sustained Ancient Egypt. A lapis-blue candle scented with Sandalwood, Cedarwood, Bergamot, and Myrrh and decorated with blue and gold glitter. Available in three sizes: 4oz, 7oz, and 11oz options. $11-17

Named for the ancient Egyptian form of ritual magick known as heka. This is a vivid red candle scented with Patchouli Dark, Frankincense, Sweet Orange, and Sandalwood and decorated with red and gold glitter. Available in three sizes: 4oz, 7oz, and 11oz options. $11-17

Eye of Ra:

Inspired by the Eyes of Ra, powerful Goddesses including Bast, Sekhmet, Wadjet, Tefnut, and others. A golden-orange candle scented with Cassia Bark, Cedarwood, Frankincense, and Atlas Cedar and decorated with burnt orange, red, and gold glitter. Available in three sizes: 4oz, 7oz, and 11oz options. $11-17

Embalming Chamber:

A special-edition candle inspired by the embalming chambers of ancient Egypt, where the dead were prepared for their entrances into the Afterlife. A black candle in a sealable glass jar that evokes the shape of canopic jars, which held the organs of the deceased. Scented with Frankincense, Sandalwood, Cedarwood, and Myrrh and decorated with gold glitter. This candle is available in a single size: 5oz. $15
